TRIO DIDALLI consists of three kannel players: Hedi Viisma, Gerda Pärnaku and Külli Org. They are each other's teachers, students and supporters, they are connected by their friendship and love for music. The trio first came together in 2012 and in these 11 years, they have created the tradition of annual Christmas concerts and summery fun-filled beach concerts in Tapurla. Trio Didalli’s repertoire varies from baroque and classical to pop music. Some of the pieces are written specially for the kannel, but generally the musicians make their own arrangements for their instruments.

KÜLLI ORG has been a friend with the kannel for many decades. She studied at Georg Ots Tallinn Music School under Els Roode, acquiring a teaching profession and graduated in 2013 from University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy with a master's degree in teaching music. Külli likes to play different styles of music on the kannel, with other beautiful sounding instruments like the cello, the saxophone and the harp. There’s also a place for folk music in her repertoire. It’s precisely the folk tunes that have been the inspiration to writing her own music and in 2017 she published her original music record “Teeleasumise tee”. Külli has been introducing the Estonian kannel in several countries, including the USA, Spain, China and Germany.

HEDI VIISMA started learning the kannel at the age of 7. Her studies took her from Georg Ots Tallinn Music School to the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where she acquired the master’s degree in 2009 and the doctor’s degree in 2019. Hedi has worked at G. Ots Music School, as a kannel lecturer at The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and at the Sibelius Academy, teaching chamber music and ensemble. Hedi’s repertoire is very versatile. Delving into music from different eras, she plays compositions written for different instruments in several styles. She has recorded kannel music both in Estonian Radio and in Finnish Radio and released records with cellist Seeli Toivio. Hedi is currently based in Helsinki.

GERDA PÄRNAKU started studying the kannel at the Viljandi Music School under Pille Bergmann. Her studies continued at the Heino Eller Tartu Music College under Ruth Kuhi and in 2019, after studying at Hedi Viisma’s kannel class at The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Gerda graduated with a master’s degree. She has also attended Ritva Koistinen's kannel class at the Sibelius Academy. Gerda works as a kannel teacher at Viljandi and Türi music schools and gives kannel lessons at the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy. She’s one of the instructors for the younger players at the Sotto Voce kannel orchestra. In Trio Didalli, Gerda is attracted by the versatility of the repertoire and pushing the boundaries of playing the kannel, thanks to which continuous development takes place.
